The Canon is Coming
The Canon is Coming – The Afrodeities Archive
The Canon is Coming is the future-facing declaration that drives the Afrodeities movement. For centuries, African mythology, history, and civilisational knowledge systems have been scattered, distorted, or erased. This page serves as the permanent announcement and evolving record of a new literary, curricular, and civilisational canon, built by us, for us, and through us.
Here, you’ll find the unfolding index of the Afrodeities canon; codices, essays, books, and curriculum strands that re-establish African myth as law, memory, governance, and cosmology. From The Black Jobs Series to The Knowledge of Kemet, from Dispatches on empire to the foundational Codex of Nile Time, each title in this canon reclaims the right to define, name, remember, and build. This canon is designed for educators who require reliable source material. For diaspora families who want to teach the truth. For children who need heroes who look like them. For thinkers who want to understand African systems beyond Eurocentric lenses. For Black people everywhere who are done being footnotes in someone else’s textbook.
The Afrodeities canon is a living body of knowledge. Its goal is not just to inform but to restore. As new works are released, this archive will continue to grow. Each entry will link to a wider codex or curriculum, connecting the dots between mythology and history, justice and memory, cosmology and code.
If you’ve ever asked where to begin understanding Africa from Africa’s point of view, the answer is here.
Because the canon is not only coming, some of it has already arrived.
