The African Mythology Series

Long before the rise of Olympus, before Valhalla echoed with battle cries, and before the gods of Rome were etched in stone, Africa sang its stories. Stories of skywalkers and rainmakers, dancers who summoned thunder, and kings who spoke with stars. These weren’t myths. These were legacies. And they are calling again.

The African Mythology Series is an epic reimagining of the ancestral legends and spiritual powerhouses of the African continent — from the golden pyramids of Kemet to the sacred groves of Dahomey, from the echoing drums of Ghana to the whispered winds of Ethiopia. Across kingdoms, clans, and cosmologies, this series weaves tales of gods, warriors, queens, tricksters, spirits, and seers — brought vividly to life through imagination, history, and heart.

Each volume dives into a different region’s mythological heart:

  • The Book of Bakongo – warriors of water and wisdom

  • Dancers of Dahomey – movement as magic, rhythm as resistance

  • Relics of the Rainmakers – sacred storms and ancestral secrets

  • The Knowledge of Kemite – divine rule, legacy, and cosmic order

  • The Elevation of Ethiopia – light, ascension, and the divine feminine

  • The Guardians of Ghana – protectors of power, memory, and soul

  • The Courage of Cameroon – fire-born warriors and the strength of story

    ....and many others

Together, they form a pan-African epic that honours the continent’s past while reimagining its mythological future.

Whether you are a seeker of stories, a lover of fantasy, or a keeper of cultural memory, The African Mythology Series offers more than entertainment — it offers reconnection. A spiritual bridge. A cultural reawakening.

This is mythology with melanin. Power with purpose.
Not borrowed. Not diluted. Rooted. Remembered. Reborn.

Africa's History in the Living Colour of Myth

Back to the Beginning

First came the Shadow Chronicles, three volumes covering Nigerian Mythology: The Shadow Sky, The Shadow Realms and The Shadow Forge. To continue our odyssey back to the cradle of civilisation, there are several other books and their associated codices, from The Eagles of Africa to the Gods of the Grain Coast. However, we will continue after Nigeria, with the redoubtable Bakongo and their mythological histories.

The Spirits of Senegambia insist it is their turn next, and so it will be, as we visit the wondrous peoples of Africa and the mythologies and practices that forged their cultures and civilisation.
